It’s still, hands-down, one of the most loved beverages on this planet.
And if there’s one thing that should be purer than your love for wine, it’s wine itself. But it so happens, wine can contain an immense amount of sediments and sulfites that impair its taste.
Also, if the wine is not aerated properly, you can forget about ever getting another fresh and invigorating sip of it.
However, if you’ve chanced upon this review now, there’s a good chance that you must be fretting for a nice wine purifier.
Hi, I’m Williams, and today your thirsty heart has definitely stumbled upon my review of one of the finest wine purifiers that money could ever buy: the Ullo Wine Purifier!
And which models from the brand do I like? Simply read on to know more!
About Ullo Wine Purifiers
Pronounced as “oo-low,” this is a revolutionary wine purifier that is uniquely designed to rid your glass of wine of any artificial sulfites, restoring the beverage to its original, fresh, natural “preservative-free” state!
The state-of-the-art design and idea for this dynamic wine purification system were conceived by James Kornacki, a doctor in chemistry at the Northwestern University from Chicago. Agitated by his sulfite-sensitivity, Kornacki invented the Selective Sulfite Capture System which eliminates any harmful chemical from any bottle of wine.
Ullo uses a unique filter to trap the sulfur dioxide in the wine, leaving the other compounds free to flow. This improves the “organoleptic properties” of the beverage.
So, how does it actually work?
Directly apply the filter on the glass or carafe. When you pour wine through the system, it captures all impurities in it to improve its taste.
The filters you get are of single-use and should be used with 750 ml standard wine bottles.
Apart from purifying the wine, Ullo also aerates it, hence providing you with dual benefits of its use.
Ullo’s wine purification system greatly helps all those who are allergic or sensitive to sulfites to enjoy the deep notes of the beverage without worrying about the effects.
Ullo Wine Purifier Reviews 2020
I’ve told you exactly what the Ullo wine purifiers do and how you can efficiently work it up to purify your wine. Now, it’s time to tell you about two of my favorite purifiers from the brand that are hands-down two of the best ones out there.
So, let’s delve right into it!
Ullo Wine Purifier with Hand-Blown Decanter
This Ullo wine purifier with a patented hand-blown decanter is simply one of the best that delivers on its claims. It comes with 6 Selective Sulfite Capture Filters Single Bottle Filters that can sit on any wine flask, and it can also be hand-held. And it does feature a functional on/off aerator switch which selectively aerates and enhances the taste of your wine!
I do not usually make qualms about my unapologetic love for great wines, but the only issue with my emotions for the beverage is that it makes me pretty hungover and sick in the morning if I went overboard with sulfites-laden wine.
Needless to say, I’ve had my share of experiences with rather expensive, limited editions and finally flashy and gimmicky options before forming a significant opinion of all. I had tried out this Ullo wine purifier on a friend’s recommendation and remembered being absolutely blown away by the performance.
This one comes with a hand-blown custom-designed glass decanter that snugly accommodates the Ullo purifier that eliminates sulfites and sediments from your wine. The Selective Sulfite Capture filters all of the sulfites to polish the natural flavors and aromas of the wine.
I love the aerator on this which comes with an awesome on/off switch. I did try it on comparatively cheaper leftover wines, and it was able to pull out some great notes in them as well! It efficiently purifies and aerates your wine in the same pour.
Although Ullo purifiers sit best on decanters from the brand’s own glass flasks, these also work well with any other wine holder you might want to pair it up with.
The Ullo wine purifiers are manufactured using food-grade BPA materials.
However, even though it might come with a “dishwasher safe” tag, be very careful while cleaning it as it is more fragile than you’d like your decanter and purifier to be. Wash it carefully by hand and store it to dry safely.
- Incredible design and work efficiency
- Exceedingly functional layout
- Purifies and aerates in a single pour
- Disassembles easily for cleaning purposes
- Requires careful cleaning owing to its pretty fragile quality
Ullo Wine Purifier with Hand-blown Carafe
The Ullo wine purifier with the brand’s signature hand-blown carafe is a hugely functional and useful wine aperture to have around in any kitchen. Not only does it look stunningly beautiful, but it’s also worth every cent you pay!
With a set of 6 Selective Sulfite Capture Filters, this works amazingly well to give you the real, unadulterated taste of wine in every drop!
This was one of the very first purifiers that I had tested out from the brand. It was gifted to me by my sister on my birthday, and I really owe this one to her.
This works exceptionally well to eliminate all traces of impurities from your wine to give a pure, rich taste.
It worked especially well for me as I get migraines easily from wines loaded with preservatives.
However, the first time I used it, I remember going a bit overboard with the wine as it tasted so good. And the best part? I didn’t even have to end up with nasty headaches and hangovers after the spree.
This is a significant functional unit that aerates your wine at just a touch of the button and in a single pour!
And, like all other purifiers from the brand, this one too is made from food-grade, BPA-free material. All you have to do is take good care of it while washing, as it’s as fragile as the previously reviewed model.
Avoid placing it under sunlight or inside your fridge for that matter. Although it does come with a travel bag, I’ll reserve my doubts regarding its travel-friendliness, as my sister’s one had got chipped during a tour to France.
Apart from these, they are truly impressive Carafe and purifier sets to have.
- Excellent performance
- Aerates and purifies in a single go
- Beautiful design
- Can be used with any wine holder
- May not be travel-friendly
So this was all about my experiences with the Ullo wine purifiers, and I think they are simply and utterly amazing at what they do. Although they can be a bit up there in price, for me, it was worth the pennies I paid. And I highly recommend you to try these out for yourself.
