Kyocera Ceramic Knife Review 2022: Why buy this product?

This 5-piece ceramic knife set from Kyocera provides a beautiful range of some of the most important knife types that you could ever need to prepare most kinds of dishes.

This was one of the very first range of ceramic knives I had ever used and the experience was undeniably an awesome one, to say the least.

Although it may be tricky to tell apart the features of the knives of this brand from others at first glance, it is only when you put them to the test that you know the subtle differences.

Design

Kyocera has provided some of the finest ceramic knives in design and form that look as spectacular as they perform. These ceramic blades are made with the brand’s patented zirconia component made especially in Japan. This makes the knives exceptionally beautiful and highly durable.

Unlike dated ceramic knives, the Kyocera ones are considerably lightweight. For me, it’s a welcome change from using heavier steel knives.

I love how easy it is to clean and maintain the knives. The lightweight design also makes it convenient for you to maneuver the knives while cutting.

Performance

Although these knives have ceramic blades instead of the all-familiar steel ones, they are in no way inferior to the latter element. In fact, the Kyocera ceramic blades are honed to perfection under marvelous Japanese craftsmanship which makes them some of the sharpest ceramic edges ever.

One of the things that I really like about these knives is that these are ideal for skinning, filleting, scaling or butterflying meat and fish. It can cut through meat, fish and vegetables easily and smoothly enough to not leave a mess behind.

The super-sharp edge and tip are just what you need to cut through food finely.

Durability

Kyocera brings you the stunning combination of traditional Japanese craftsmanship and modern innovative designs that not only contribute to the functionality of the product but also to the overall quality of its material.

The Kyocera knives have just the ideal weight, which makes them immensely easy to use. And Kyocera’s patented zirconia component makes the knives incredibly durable.

I was impressed with the ceramic blades on these knives for good reason. These will not react with your food or turn them brown; they are resistant to corrosion, rust, and even acids. Overall, these ceramic knives ensure a hygienic clean-cut, keeping your food from contamination.

Handle and block design

The handles on the knives are designed to provide you complete balance, control, and ease of maneuverability while cutting. The comfort grip on the handles ensures a steady and secure hold, reducing pressure on the fingers especially while cutting harder substances.

The knife set comes with its own holding block made of bamboo. The holder consists of 4 rubber feet that keep it from slipping off the counter as well as damaging your countertops.

Dishwasher-safe

One of the best features of the Kyocera Knife Set is that it is completely dishwasher-safe. I, for one, go to great extents to ensure that most kitchen tools I use are dishwasher-safe, so that I don’t have to dip my hands in muck-water at the end of the day!

Hence, this is one winning feature for me!

They won’t scratch, neither will the knives lose their edge. However, it is advisable to place them away from metal utensils.

What could have been better?

The only thing I wish it had was an affordable price tag. Even though these knives are authentic Japanese knives, the price is still too high in my opinion. Moreover, the knives can’t be used for boning and prying, unlike steel ones.
